James got a pool for his birthday. He's been asking for one for a while now. I told him one day back in January, "When it's hot outside we'll get a pool." Just so I could get a bit of peace. Sometime in March it started warming up and I forgot about my promise. On one especially hot day James said, "It sure is hot outside. Isn't it, Mom?" I replied, "It is hot." He looked at me and said, "Well, it's time to get a pool then." Oops, I had forgotten. Anyway, I got him to hold off long enough for his birthday.

We are one of those few families in AZ that don't have a backyard pool or neighborhood pool. *sniff*sniff* So I bought a little one for the boys to cool off in during the hot days of the summer. It also gets them out of the house for an hour or so.

The first day we used the pool, I brought out ice pops for them to have when they were finished. This way they were pretty dried off by the time they wanted to head in.

I love these boys! They are so stinkin' cute. They are always cracking me up, even when I feel like pulling my hair out.

I think about you in the summertime...
Oh, oh, I'm sittin' here in the sun with you on my mind. You are my summertime.
I Y New Kids on the Block!
Today we went over to Ted and Martha's to swim in their pool. James loved to sit on the waterfall. He would not come down from there. It was so cute.
Here's a cute, little video of James in the waterfall. Ignore my voice or my hand as it blocks part of the shot.

What Happens in St. George, Stays in St. George
Spring Fling. Just as quickly as it arrived, it was over. We had such a blast. All of us girls (ages 18 and up), minus one, were able to be there.
Would you like to know who is who? Starting from the back, left to right;
Wendy, Jean, Karen, Annie, Tracy, Lori, LaRey, McKenzie, Jennifer, Kerri, Lisa, Bridgett, Christi, Jace, Ardith, Jennica, Michelle, Cynthia, Lindsey, James, Jamie, McKell, Me, Lisa, Edie, Laney, and Nicci
It was so much fun to get our babies together. Shortly after this pic was taken, James started splashing and screaming. Jace did NOT like that and immediately started screaming, too. But it wasn't the happy kind. And yes, there is a happy kind.
We laid out by the pool and soaked up some rays. But don't worry, my generation is a little bit better about getting sunscreen on our kids. Did you know that 80% of your skin damage occurs before you are 6?! Just a number I thought I might throw out there, moms.
We practiced our toe touches. Go McKell! Look at the air she got. I hear I did pretty good also. And check out that sunflower wreath/monstrosity. I was tempted to hide it in my suitcase.
And we did a lot of driving. So much driving, the rugrats had to take over for a while.
It was such a fun trip. Bonding with the girls, nothing can measure up to it. I'm already looking forward to next year!
