Gilbert Here We Come...

Well, it's official.  We've finally closed on a house in Gilbert and are moving into it this weekend.  I am so excited, and a little stressed out.  But it's so fun to start a new chapter in your family's life.  We will miss all of our friends in Phoenix, but will only be 40 minutes away.  So we need to stay in touch and get together often.  Hopefully, gas prices go down before our play-dates.

Anyway, it'll be a while until I post again.  I have a feeling I'll be pretty busy for the next little while.  When I come back I will post plenty of Myrtle Beach pics and new house pics.

F-O-U-R!

Today was Matthew's birthday.  He turned 4!  I can't believe he has been part of our family for that long.  Then again, I almost can't remember not having him around.  He is the smartest, funniest kid I know.  He is so entertaining and loves life.  Happy birthday, Bud!

He has really been wanting a skateboard and so I told him that maybe for his birthday he would get one.    He loves it, especially his pads that make it near impossible for him to move his fingers.  Have you ever seen a 4 year-old with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
Since we're in the process of moving, I had no time and too much stress to make a cake.  So Matthew got a giant cupcake courtesy of Fry's.  Except he wanted the regular-sized cupcakes everyone else was eating.
My two (and too) cute boys.  Yellow and green teeth and all.
I love watching my kids learn and grow.  It is so fun!  Matthew has given me some of the best (and hardest) four years of my life.  He challenges us every step of the way.  But at least I know he isn't easily swayed, and makes his own choices.  Even if he has to learn the hard way.  He is an amazing kid and I can't wait for what the next four years has in store for him.

To Grandmother's House We Go...

...and Grandpa's.
We've been at my parents' house for a few days now and have been having a lot of fun.

Matthew and Delaney have been captivated by movies.

Enjoyed some delicious burgers.  And even showed how yummy they were for pictures.

Grabbed some lunch at The Depot and spotted turtles in the river.

We are having so much fun, but miss Tim!  We can't wait to see you Friday morning.
Tomorrow we're headed to the beaches of South Carolina.  I'll post again next week.  Until then, Happy Summer!

America's Favorite Pastime

So we made it to the game on the right night, see post below.  It was tons of fun, even though the D-backs lost.  Matthew was going for the blue team (the Padres), so he was pleased with the outcome.  Traitor.  We're not really die hard D-back fans, but since we live in AZ that's who we root for.  I know, it's lame.  But whatever.  (I'm actually an American League girl myself, but beggars can't be choosers.  Go Mariners!)
James sure loved his ticket.  Yummy.

Day of Independence

Happy Independence Day!  I love the 4th.  It is one of my favorite days of the year!
I bought D-back tickets for the 4th so we could watch their fireworks display, only to find out as we were on the way that the tickets were actually for the 5th.  Oops!

Wouldn't these shirts have been perfect for a 4th of July baseball game?
We played pin the flag on the flagpole.  Tim won.  He was right on.  Just between me and you, I think he cheated.
I just posted this pic because I love how Matthew is smiling at me.  He does like me! Sometimes I really wonder.
James passed the time crawling under the table.  He loved it.
We hope you had a great 4th!  Lots of burgers, dogs, soda, chips, Jell-O salads, fireworks, hot weather, sunscreen, family, and swimming.  That's what it is all about.  Oh, and freedom.
