Election Day 2008

We did it.  We went and braved the lines at the polling place.  We spent hours standing in line, waiting for our turn.  Okay, so maybe it was only about 30 minutes.  The boys each got a sticker that they proudly wore all day.  Matthew got upset a few times when he thought he lost his.  He was also disappointed to find out that Obama was not at the "Voting Place."  I didn't realize, but he thought Obama would be there and he would finally get to meet him.  Matthew loves Obama.  It's so funny how involved he has been in this election.  Matthew Blood for 2040!

We went to early voting. When I got there the line was an hour and a half! But...hehehe, if you are visably pregnant you get to go to the front of the line. So I got to walk straight up and vote. It only ended up taking like 5-10 minutes for the whole thing. It was so exciting! But our guy lost. We voted for McCain.

They look ready to celebrate by jumping up and down.

"And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices, I need your help and I will be your president too.” - Barack Obama

I know we talked about this earlier today, but this is the exact quote... I dig it.

Thanks for getting the exact quote. I really like it too. Here is one I loved from McCain's concession speech:

"I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our goodwill and earnest effort to find ways to come together to find the necessary compromises to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited.
Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that."

I think it's important at this time to join together as a nation and support our leaders. Together we can achieve so much, but divided we make even more messes. "United we stand, divided we fall."

Well, if you look at my record, I've been known to reach across the aisle.

They need people more like us in the government. The world would be such a happy place.
