The Holy Ghost and other Halloween costumes...

About a month ago at church, someone gave a talk about the Holy Ghost. Matthew looked up at me with wide eyes, "There's a ghost in the church?" I tried, as best I could, to explain to him that the Holy Ghost isn't like other ghosts. He still couldn't get over the fact that there was a ghost in the church. So I told him that the Holy Ghost was our helper (Matthew's biggest claim is that he is my great helper) and that he is friends with Jesus (Matthew LOVES Jesus, they are best friends). "Oh, the Holy Ghost is a nice ghost?" he asked. "Yes," I answered. "The nicest." "Oh, the Holy Ghost is my friend, too."
Well, a few days ago we were in the car and drove passed a house decorated for Halloween, so this led to our daily Halloween discussion. We talked about candy, witches, monsters, ghosts, and everything you could possibly think of, we covered it. Then we talked about costumes. "Mom, I'm going to be the Holy Ghost for Halloween." Hmmm... I'm not sure where I can find that kind of fabric.

You'll have to ask my mom what I wanted to be for Halloween when I was three. It was very scary and WAY less darling to tell your friends about. I think I saw some fancy fabric at JoAnn today - perfect for a Holy Ghost costume! What a cute kid.
