We had a very fun-filled 2 weeks in Utah this summer.

Holly taught Jacob how delicious dirt is.

He does this scrunchy face almost every time a camera is around. I love it.

Delaney showed us her lady-like eating techniques.

James worked on his aerobics in the backyard.

Tim, Julianne and Taylor did the Sky Coaster at Lagoon.

We waited around for a long time until it was finally their turn.

Tim said the scariest part was being pulled 150 feet up in the air.

I'm not sure if you can blow this up or not, but their faces are priceless in this shot.

They survived!

We celebrated Matthew's birthday. The big 6!

That night Jacob pulled a table down on his face and we got to visit the ER. 7 stitches later and he was as good as new.

We drove out to Tremonton and watched the fireworks from the Zundels' backyard. Holly was so excited about it, she danced the night away. She loves pioneers.

Lindsey got Matthew a snuggy for his birthday. He loves it and wore it home on our 13 hour drive. He's going through a camo stage. Funny for such a self-proclaimed "indoorsy' kid.

The fireworks were a perfect end to a perfect trip.

I left one of my cameras in UT and as soon as I get it, I'll post more pics.

40 years of wedded bliss...

Martha and Ted just had their anniversary and all the kids drove out to SLC to celebrate.

40 years! We had dinner at the Lion House and it was delish. The walk to and from our car was freezing though! I was not prepared for this winter coldness. But Temple Square was all lit up and beautiful. So it was well worth the frozen toes and legs.

Jacob was well geared up for the cold.

When we were leaving the Lion House, a cute couple was also leaving. They had just been married in the temple. Their party guests lined the sidewalk with giant sparklers as the couple ran through the lit tunnel. So we stopped, watched and cheered them on. When the couple had gone through, the party guests told us to go on through since they still had lots of life left on their sparklers. So we all ran through. I'm sure I had the goofiest grin on my face the whole time, but it was so fun. **Andrea and Matt, you guys totally have to do this at your wedding!**

Sledding

We just spent one fun-filled week in Utah for Christmas and Martha and Ted's wedding anniversary. Our kids have never played in the snow. It's sad, I know. They loved it. We spent three days sledding. Matthew never wanted to quit, James did about 30 minutes in.

Happy Birthday, Matthew!!

Last Friday, the 24th, we celebrated Matthew's 5th birthday.  I can't believe how fast time has flown by.  He'll be starting kindergarten in less than 2 weeks.  I want him to stay little forever.  No more growing up.  But today he told me, "Mom, you want me to grow bigger because that's when I'll be good."  Do I have to wait that long?  Just kidding, he's a great kid.  Just a little too smart for his own good (or mine) sometimes.

He loves Transformers and was excited about his Bumblebee helmet.  

Since we were in Utah and it was also Pioneer Day, we set off fireworks and played with some sparklers.  What a fun way to celebrate your birthday!

I love this kid and couldn't imagine my life without him.  He brings so much happiness and adventure to our home, we couldn't have asked for a better surprise!  

This is the place...

We took the kids to This is the Place Park.  They actually had a great time.  

I think Matthew's favorite part was cleaning this rug.  It helped him practice for baseball, he said.

James and Laney did some old-school laundry.

We decided to take the kids to Lagoon the other day.  Matthew loved it.  He had such a great time and didn't want to leave.  But his eight month pregnant mother was a little worn out after 10 hours of kiddie rides.  Go figure.

James and Laney loved the boat rides.  I remember loving the boats. 

James wasn't so sure about Bulgey the whale after it started.  It goes a lot faster than you would think.  he cried for just  minute, but quickly got over it and enjoyed the ride.  When I was around his age they had to stop this same ride because I was crying so much.  We're more alike than just our looks, I guess.  He's just a bit braver.

This was one of Matthew's favorite rides.  He loves to shoot guns.

Grandpa Huff

We visited my Grandma and Grandpa Huff a few times while we were in Utah.  I realized that I do not have any pictures of my boys with my grandpa, so I had to snap a few.  

My grandpa had a heart attack about two weeks ago.  I am so grateful that he is feeling better.  He's a little worn out, but he's my same old grandpa with his infectious smile.  I love that guy!

Logan

My cousin Jason got married while we were in Utah.  So we packed the boys up and drove up to Logan.  Sometimes I wonder why anyone would get married in any other temple than the Salt Lake temple.  I mean, it is the only true temple, right?  But when you are on the grounds of the Logan temple, you understand why.  Such a pretty temple.  And I guess all temples are true.

Tubular!

In the Fall my Grandma Levinthal throws a pumpkin picking party.  This year, we got to attend.  It was so much fun!  We ate witch fingers, mummy dogs, spiced wassail, and yummy pizza.  The kids got to go into her garden and each pick out a pumpkin.  

Well, that's a surprise!  Matthew picked a small, green pumpkin.  Huh, I would have never guessed that.

James wasn't all that interested in picking a pumpkin.  He was just looking for a good one to throw.  

I just thought this picture was so Tessa.  The little princess among a bunch of boys.

This was one of at least 100 pictures we tried to take of all the little kids.  We're missing Tessa.  I think she may have had an accident and was being changed inside.  

James sat here for a good 10 minutes after our failed groups shots.  He repeatedly said, "Cheeeeeeeeeeese!"

I hadn't finished my boys' costumes yet, so my mom bought Matthew a Ninja Turtle costume so he could be like Cooper and Peyton.  Matthew and Cooper had lots of fun battling it out.  I though Ninja Turtles were on the same team, but whatever.

I think Jace is more of a loner or maybe he just doesn't care for James.  But James didn't care, he loved following Jace around.

And to top off a successful night of spooky fun, the kids all circled round the fire and roasted s'mores.  There you are, Grandma! (in the back row)
