4 days old...

Jacob does not like his baths.  He screamed the whole time.  But as soon as the diaper was put back on, he was good.  Look at that angry little man.

Today is the longest he has had his eyes open.  He has been trying to take everything in.  I wish these pictures showed how much hair he has, for one of our kids anyway.

He is so long and skinny.  But don't worry, he is getting plenty to eat.  He would like to spend all day eating if he could.  Just get a look at those arms and legs!

We just love this little guy and can't get enough of him.  Matthew loves to read to him and James is always wondering where "Gi-cub" is.

Two peas in a pod...sometimes

A few days after Christmas we headed out to my parents' house in Alabama.  We had such a good time.  Obviously, I was most excited about seeing my newest niece, Holly.  Who is a gorgeous, happy baby.  But what was really fun, was seeing how James and Laney got along...or didn't.  It was really one way or the other for them.  But I have so many cute pictures of them together.  I had to share.
This is at a park down by a river near my parents' house.

Almost a nightly activity, sink baths.  Whenever anyone was at the kitchen sink,  these two came running around the corner.  Delaney was trying to take off her clothes and James would say, "Bath?  Bath?  Bath?"

They loved playing on the stairs.  Fun for them, a little scary at times for us.

My mom got the kids some really cute bubble wands.  We took them outside to play with them, these two preferred the marshmallows.

They looked out the windows a lot.  I'm not sure what they were looking for, but it was interesting.

It was so fun to watch them together.  Delaney is used to having my mom all to herself, so this was a major adjustment for her.  She was a little jealous (that's an understatement).  James was okay with all the attention she was taking from him, until one day he snapped.  He was done.  Grandma was his, too.  And they fought over her literally every second of the day.

What Happens in St. George, Stays in St. George

Spring Fling.  Just as quickly as it arrived, it was over.  We had such a blast.  All of us girls (ages 18 and up), minus one, were able to be there.
Would you like to know who is who?  Starting from the back, left to right;
Wendy, Jean, Karen, Annie, Tracy, Lori, LaRey, McKenzie, Jennifer, Kerri, Lisa, Bridgett, Christi, Jace, Ardith, Jennica, Michelle, Cynthia, Lindsey, James, Jamie, McKell, Me, Lisa, Edie, Laney, and Nicci

It was so much fun to get our babies together.  Shortly after this pic was taken, James started splashing and screaming.  Jace did NOT like that and immediately started screaming, too.  But it wasn't the happy kind.  And yes, there is a happy kind.
We laid out by the pool and soaked up some rays.  But don't worry, my generation is a little bit better about getting sunscreen on our kids.  Did you know that 80% of your skin damage occurs before you are 6?!  Just a number I thought I might throw out there, moms.
We practiced our toe touches.  Go McKell!  Look at the air she got.  I hear I did pretty good also.  And check out that sunflower wreath/monstrosity.  I was tempted to hide it in my suitcase.
And we did a lot of driving.  So much driving, the rugrats had to take over for a while.
It was such a fun trip.  Bonding with the girls, nothing can measure up to it.  I'm already looking forward to next year!

A Giant Easter Egg...

Lindsey sent Matthew and James a fun little package that we got in the mail yesterday.  She sent a little package of color tablets that you put in the tub and it changes the color of the water.  Matthew was so excited about this surprise, but not as much as he loves the pirate sword, which he slept with last night.  Anyway, this morning the first thing he wanted to do was take a bath and use the color tablets.  He chose blue for today, as you can see in the picture.  After a few minutes in the tub, Matthew said, "Hey, we're like Easter eggs."  Fortunately, the tablets don't change little boys different colors.

Splish Splash

James loves bath time...

...except when he bites it...
